Rural Community Network (RCN) has long been a powerful advocate for rural communities across Northern Ireland — supporting grassroots groups, challenging inequality, and creating space for unheard voices to be heard. But the organisation’s brand no longer reflected the energy or impact of its work. We partnered with RCN to create a new community brand identity and digital presence — one that feels grounded in place, rooted in purpose, and ready for the future.

Listening to the people who live it

The work started, as it often does, with conversation. We spoke with the team to understand what the brand meant internally — and what it lacked. While the mission was crystal clear, the identity felt tired and generic. We found a shared appetite for change, and a strong set of values ready to be brought to life. This wasn’t about reinvention. It was about rediscovery — reconnecting the organisation with its own sense of identity and giving the team the tools to express it confidently.

A mark that speaks for many

The new visual identity centres on a circular symbol — inspired by the hills, rivers, roads and fields that shape rural life. It speaks to connection, movement and diversity. Paired with a bold but friendly wordmark and a colour palette that balances trust and optimism, the system flexes across everything from business cards to banners, social posts and a new website. It’s a community brand identity designed to feel as alive and varied as the people it represents.
