Go! Youth Trust
A Bold Brand Evolution
Since 2013, Go! Youth Trust has been providing 7-25 year olds across Central Scotland whatever support they require to grow, explore and thrive, and each year the charity supports over 700 young people.
130 volunteers work to provide mentoring, small group work, universal youth work, targeted youth work, personal development and employability programmes and residentials.
A bold identity
Before the web design could begin, we engaged with Go! Youth Trust to refresh their brand identity.
What became apparent early on was that every stakeholder had radically different view on how the brand should present itself. In the end, we have to commend Dave on his boldness to choose the concept that resonated most with young people.
An impactful wordmark with elongated shadows made for a logo that stands out wherever it is found. Patterns and vivid colours carried over from the outgoing gave endless energy and freshness to the brand.
A radical website design
Impressed with the young people’s response to the rebrand, we took risks with the website design.
A retro, 70s style colour palette was splashed across the entire site, with a block layout and dramatic animations. Large typography not only grabbed the reader’s attention but made navigation easier.
The website first went live in 2019, but the journey didn’t stop there. We’ve worked closely with Go! Youth Trust ever since to ensure their website remained fresh, relevant, and ready for what’s next.
A UX audit and redesign
In 2025, we conducted a UX audit of the original website, evaluating how the site had aged in terms of usability, accessibility and design. Think of this as a digital spring clean, with the goal to freshen things up and find smart ways to improve the overall experience.
We introduced a fresh set of design patterns, dialled up the vibrancy with a brighter colour palette, and added subtle animations to give the content a little extra life. One of the biggest upgrades was the site navigation. Previously, key pages were tucked away behind a hamburger menu — now the navigation is now fully visible and expanded, making it easier for users to explore what Go! Youth Trust offers.
We also introduced several new pages to better support the organisation’s growing needs and evolving content, bringing clarity, energy, and cohesion to the Go! Youth Trust digital experience.
Telling the Story
Storytelling is essential for charities. It allows audiences to connect with real lives instead of just numbers, and shows the tangible impact of every donation. With limited time, we travelled to Falkirk and created three short films that highlight the heart of Go! Youth Trust’s mission and the ongoing transformations in the lives of the young people they support.
“We have used DHD repeatedly since first engaging their services to rebrand our charity. Since then they have created a new website and also created a number of promotional videos. DHD’s attention to detail and customer service is second to none.”
