A video to mark 25-years of GCD.
Founded by two ambitious university students in 1999, GCD Technologies has grown into a thriving company that celebrates innovation through ambitious software. To celebrate 25 years in business, they entrusted DHD with creating a short film for their 25th anniversary event.
GCD are an ambitious team of innovators in custom software and digital product solutions.
Built from the ground up by two young dreamers in university, GCD recently celebrated 25 years of success, and tasked us with creating a short film to screen at their 25 Year Event.
It had to celebrate the legacy and the milestones; capture the growth, the ambition, the laughs and the spirit, while daring to be a little bold. All in under 4 minutes – no mean feat!
GCD’s branding featured a pop of orange, alongside monochrome, magazine style cut-out graphics from iconic moments in tech history. Inspired by this bold identity, we created dynamic transitions by treating footage with a monochrome, paper-like texture and layering GCD’s cut-out elements, almost as if a scrapbook memento of the 25 years past.
With handwritten text blended with modern typefaces, this animation celebrates both the custom made and future-focussed nature of GCD’s digital products.
The film was a huge success at its screening, and was reformatted into bite-sized content for all social platforms.
